David Magee launching mental health, finding joy podcast based on new memoir
Magee joins popular That Sounds Fun Network
Hey friends, exciting news to share.
I’m launching a new podcast this fall based upon the name and themes of my soon-to-publish memoir. And, I’ve landed the podcast on the most wonderful, and thriving podcast network, joining friends you know and love already hosting some impacting, life enhancing shows.
The podcast is long-form, weekly, and launches Sept. 10 — and you’ll get episode links and insider information here in your inbox every Tuesday. Please tell others interested in the topic of living our best lives to subscribe to this newsletter and share.
Here’s the press release announcing the new podcast:
Bestselling author and well-being changemaker David Magee is launching a new podcast based upon his forthcoming memoir A Little Crazy: Finding Purpose and Joy Amid the Madness.
Magee’s A Little Crazy podcast launches Sept. 10 on the flourishing That Sounds Fun Network, which hosts popular shows including the Raising Boys and Girls with David Thomas and Sissy Goff, The Carlos Whittaker Podcast and Dadville.
Magee’s new memoir, published by Matt Holt Books, a Benbella imprint, is a sequel to his bestseller Dear William: A Father’s Memoir of Addiction, Recovery, Love, and Loss, which helped ignite vital mental health discussion among students and families nationally.
A Little Crazy, called “utterly brilliant in its creativity, candor, and voice” by New York Times bestselling author Neil White, publishes on September 17, a week after the podcast launch.
“We’re all a little crazy, in one way or another,” Magee said. “For many of us, it’s technically so, battling mental health issues from anxiety and depression to ADHD, OCD and addiction. And that’s okay. It’s good, even, when we learn to manage and channel our distractions into strength, recovery, and lasting joy. For others, managing stress due to life challenges and transitions can feel a little crazy, and those who experience it are not alone. This upbeat podcast is about finding and keeping the joy all want and deserve.”
Magee and guests, including those well known and others with stunning, never-before-told stories, will discuss topics including family, faith, the creative life, and mental health recovery, resilience, and joy.
Magee’s inspirational Dear William story of family loss and recovery, featured on CBS Mornings, led him to create the William Magee Center for AOD and Wellness Education and the William Magee Institute for Student Wellbeing at the University of Mississippi. He’s since become an educational and motivational speaker to students, parents and communities throughout the country, breaking stigma and helping many get needed counseling and recovery.
